T&C 1921 | 1 session in 1 month with 0 rescheduling quotas

Please read at least the most important conditions in yellow.

Session Quotas

1. A Session Quota is our unit for each Session.
2. This Course gives you 1 Session Quota.
3. You can use up this Session Quota in 1 month time.
4. Each time you book a Session, your Session Quotas are updated automatically.
5. For this Course you don't receive any Rescheduling Quotas.
6. If you are late for a session, the Session may only last until the scheduled end time of that Session.
7. If you are more than 15 minutes late, the Teacher may consider you a no-show and decide not to teach you.
8. If you don't show up, the Session is counted as completed and this Single-session Course ends.^*.

Booking Your Session

1. Be sure to book an available Session before the Session's "Booking Expiry Date" has passed.
2. You can book your Session according to the available time slots your Teacher shows.
3. Each Session is 60 minutes.

Rescheduling Quotas

1. This Course does not allow you to reschedule any Session^**.
2. If the Student clicks the reschedule button, this Session will be considered to be cancelled by the Student.
3. Rescheduling means that you can reschedule a previously booked Session before the Booking Expiry Date has passed.

Screen Sharing means that ...

1. you learn online by sharing the screen of the Teacher using your computer, tablet or smartphone. Screen Sharing with a smartphone is possible but not recommended.
2. you can hear the Teacher clearly and the Teacher can hear you clearly.
3. by default cameras are switched off^*** as it is usually much better to focus on the screen instead of on the face of the Teacher.
4. a third-party software, such as Zoom (https://zoom.us), Google Meet, MS Teams, macOS Screen Sharing or LiveStreaming options can be used for Screen Sharing.

Teacher

1. The Teacher shown in this Course is your Teacher for each Session of the Course.
2. For Subject-based English Courses you and the Teacher discuss the ideas on the Subject AND you learn useful English for that Subject.
3. The Teacher may give you assignments, such as Listening Exercises, making Progression Recordings and may follow up with you personally during your sessions.
4. Teachers may also ask you if you are coachable. Being coachable means that you are open to try on something suggested by your Teacher. Please let your Teacher know explicitly if you are not coachable or do not want to be coached. They shall make a note of that in your Session so that it is trackable in case of a dispute. 

Student

1. This Course is a one-to-one Course. One-to-one means that no one else is watching or listening in during each Session unless the Teacher approves of it.
2. The Student must be the same person for each Session.
3. The Student may not make recordings of the Session or parts thereof.
4. You cannot pass on any Session to anyone else.
5. If the Teacher notices that the Student is making recordings of any kind or that another Student is joining without approval, the Teacher may cancel all sessions and no refund will be issued.

Session Subject

1. The Subject of this Course is the Subject that will be discussed.
2. This Course cannot be used for any other Subject or purpose. This is to keep you committed to the Subject and to avoid that the Course would lose its direction.
3. The Subject of this Course cannot be changed.

When the Teacher is absent

1. A Teacher may be allowed to reschedule your Session if they still have enough rescheduling quotas left (5 each month currently) AND if the Session's Booking Expiry Date has not been reached. When they do, you are automatically notified about that and you receive 1 Session Quota.
2. It is the Teacher's duty to cancel your Session if they realise that they cannot be present at your booked Session.
3. When a Teacher cancels a Session of which the Booking Expiry Date has passed already, you receive 2 Session Quotas. 1 for your missed Session and 1 as a penalty.
4. If the Teacher is a no-show, it's your duty to set the Teacher as a no-show on your Session and do so at least 15 minutes after your Session started. Once you set the Teacher's punctuality as "no-show" and click "save", the Session will be cancelled by the Teacher, not you. Just make sure you have ample proof in the form of screenshots and more, that shows you were present at the screen sharing meeting and had a proper Internet connection.
5. Both parties can prepare, edit or update the Session from the moment that the Session's Booking Expiry Date has passed. When you do so and also select a value of the "Notify them about these updates" the other party will receive an email notification about that update. Please check what types of updates are available.

 

(^*Important): Because you will lose a Session if you don't show up, make sure that you have a reliable Internet connection 
(^**Example): Imagine you have booked most of your Sessions according to your working schedule but your boss rearranges something such that you would have to give up your Session. We wouldn't want you to lose a Session. Therefore you can now safely 'reschedule' this session to a date and time that suits you better IF you reschedule that Session before its Booking Expiry Date has passed. 
(^***Note): It is not necessary that you see the Teacher's face or that the Teacher sees yours. In fact, it is better for you to learn whilst not seeing the Teacher so that you can focus on what is most important: what is talked about and written on the screen. You can request to see the Teacher's face when you want to learn things that can only be shared by camera e.g. gestures, facial expressions, pronunciation techniques, etc.
